For what it is worth, I just took my first Uber ride and spoke to the driver and what he thinks about renting car for Uber. Guess what, he told me it's way too expensive, and that he got his brand new Toyota Hybrid for 100/week and warranty. From my perspective as a passenger, it was a fairly decent car. So I think the main issue we have to think about is who are we targeting? My driver was new to Uber as well (just started 1 month ago) and even he bite the bullet and got a car instead.

Unless renting car gives you other incentives to justify the adding 50+ a week and at the end of the day you don't own the car. Any thoughts?
