YEP!
I use my isp's voip (internode). Works a treat. Only issue is you can not be uploading large files (ie. file sharing etc) when talking...other than that, just like a normal phone although sometimes there is a bit of a mechanical sound to it....a bit like mobiles can sound sometimes, but does not cause any prob's.
Friends also use Engin., works a treat. (they are on 512/128 DSL I think).
You can try it on a computer first and see how it works for you and them move to a "voip box" if you like it.
Do it, you will not regret it.
