I believe he is pointing out that the Chinese cobalt stocks lead price action. They hit their lows before official cobalt price found its low. Insiders see the price on the ground or demand for product in China slowing so sell off cobalt stocks before the LME price catches on. And now we see the same Chinese cobalt stocks are now rebounding strongly whilst cobalt price is still lagging. The theory being that we might expect cobalt price to follow up now if these Chinese stocks are leading price action​

If we examine the billions China has pumped into securing DRC cobalt assets and their current premature stage in NMC cathode rollout (they have barely begun with NMC) its clear to me that the short term violence in cobalt is just that - short term.​

Additionally to my delight last night I heard reliable news of a major Japanese auto maker looking for cobalt supply in Congo.​
