Regarding the production capacity, companies tend to initially opt for smaller production numbers up front to reduce CAPEX and avoid impacting the price of the product that they're selling. CLA and cobalt is different.
I don't think we'll have any challenges at all securing offtakes or finance and I don't think we have to worry about disrupting the cobalt market with too much volume. So IMO there's no need to go low in Phase 1. I know that BB is Mr Conservative but I'd really like to see production numbers that reflect the ambitions of the company and the size of the resource (expected size).
BTW - 2Mtpa is still great. The profits will still be extraordinary but 4Mtpa really makes a difference. Using the same conservative assumptions from earlier I get a MC of $1B; and using the $80k/t and PE12 adjustment, I get $1.3B.
