*the NTG does not suppot new U mines in line with ALP policy and has not since 1983
*the NTG only has the power to regulate uranium mining
*the Feds want Koongarra and Jabiluka to go ahead
*exploration licences are not granted for a specific mineral
*the NT is not a state and cannot stop the feds from approving new U mines or nuclear waste dumps.
