    You must sell all of them in order to claim the total loss. If you have no gains to offset and your not fussed by a possible further fall in the SP, why sell?

    To claim a loss you will need your sales note(s) showing the sale of all the shares you sold and the price you got. Along with the original purchase note(s) and your holding certs.
