Off label use is pretty commonly done with approved pharmaceuticals. I have to support your contention DDD that the easier route to approval was the chosen strategy, and from there, let the physician decide whether to prescribe for other off label indications.

That kind of strategy sounds a lot like it has a fair bit of big pharmaco involvement in it. There could be a fair bit of a Merck guiding hand behind it but that would be a good thing. GLTA
