You are correct re Buttonwood being a nominee for what looks like Macquarie Bank, my error.
In saying that the nominee was holding 74m shares for someone and they've sold, who was it? I seriously doubt it was a put through from hand to hand, you can't put wash trades for $3m through, if that were the case I would suggest it would be done via OMT.
The stock has traded poorly since the crossing was done with the usual suspects in this stock (namely Morgans) selling immediately the following day.
It can't be that hard for management to be able to say what's happened at the AGM surely?
