A good example of diversify with Vocation and Vocus. I was in Vocus 2o11 and it went nowhere for a couple of years, for long periods I was 20% under. Then it took off and exited at $4, thought it had run to valuation, only to see it touch $8 this year! No matter what we research and consider the market is always a game of chance, it doesn't follow the expected course and business is dynamic.

I agree with about 7 stocks for diversification, too much more and it becomes difficult to keep on top of them - run risk of diluting a couple of good runners. Market theory suggests about 20 stocks for diversification, this is fine for a multi $m portfolio but not overly practical for an individual investor, I think,
