Dear Pacificwinner, the point of a class action is that the applicatants pay the costs.
Other members of the class go along for the ride - they do not pay any costs, and if the action is successful, they share in such settlement as is agreed by the Courts. I assume the latter is in proportion to their potential losses in 2008,which is why people who believe they may be affected should do their homework and register their interest with Slater & Gordon.
