I think the letter we received makes it very clear that it will not cost us, other than a portion of our claim, should it be successful.
It states "Class members in a class action are not individually responsible for the legal costs associated with bringing the class action. In a class action, only the Applicant is responsible for the costs."
The applicants being Scott & Taws.
I've sent in my claim. Only took a few minutes.
For the person asking about opting out. I understood the letter to mean that we should opt out only if we want the opportunity to pursue the claim further, should it be unsuccessful. I would hardly be in that category (legal costs prohibitive), and therefore sent in my completed registration form - it only took a few minutes.
It was an interesting exercise because it clearly illustrated my attempts to average down - on 5 occasions in 2008!!
A valuable lesson.
