An action against PET is like a winter in Westeros...it's coming. Liability is a lock. The market was misled. The company admits that much. Now it is only a matter of figuring out what the inflation was in the share price as a result of the misleading information and who overpaid for shares during the relevant period. That'll give you quantum and then a payout. I'd be happy to discuss it with you to give you some insight but "you don't like lawyers" hahahaha. No one does until you need one, and even then people resent the need for it.
IMO the best route for the company is to deal with it swiftly. That's all I'm saying. But you know what they say about opinions...
