Most audits of companies this size rely more on getting comfort on the adequacy of internal controls throughout the year than brute force reviews of balance sheet items post balance date.
Whether or not the review of inventory by the auditor was done properly is an open question - I'd ask if it was really appropriate for DSH to have never made a separate note disclosure about its inventory. The only quantitative note information I can find about inventories is Note 5 regarding the inventory obsolescence provision (but why should I have to go to the income tax expense note to find this information?).
