Actually there is a much more likely reason than lawyering up as you suggest.
Bane and Joel are now dealing with the ASX. It is not in GSW's best interest to comment until these dealings are resolved. They made the mistake of tweeting when this began "why is a non sensitive announcement being with held?"
Someone has obviously said fighting with the ASX over twitter is not a great way to resolve the matter.
