Its a bit hard to compare GSW to 2 of the biggest companies in Aus.
But in your comparison it kind of does work that way. If Woolworths has a target growth rate of 3.6% but only achieves 3.5%(so falls short by 0.1%) the share price will go down. The analysis and commentary over these big companies is on a level above GSW.
But not achieving results has got nothing to do with the ASX. However on a material disclosure (your example of losing 10,000 customers). Yes a company is supposed to inform the ASX of a material downward revision to sales, once they become aware and not wait until a 4c etc.
