While I agree with you, and I gave you a TU for that post, one should remember that there are times in life where someone must be shown that what he/she did (in this instance the Government) cannot get away with what they did, and they must be forced to pay and/or made to remember in the future that anything of the kind at some stage or another of the game, is not allowed to happen again.
Don't forget that the ones that really lost out big on this one, are the Mums and Dads investors some of whom have lost a hell of a lot of money and, for some, they could have reached the point of no return.
On the other hand, the Government and the Minister involved in this decision, have lost nothing as it will all eventually come out from yours and my pockets.
Besides, don't forget that many that would have sold out under duress, they will have no recourse on getting some of their money back unless they are ready and willing to buy in MEL once again and hoping that things will turn out for the best.
Anyway, to each his own and lets hope that things will turn out for the best from here on end.
IMHO, don't also forget that some big companies would have looked and waited with baited breath for this verdict so that they will know where they will stand in the future.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some major will be looking at what MEL will be doing next and probably look at a JV, if not more than that.
