Picture this scenario. Internal politics at the company.
Just wild guess and conjecture here. One way WP would get the benefit of the doubt would be if he realised the numbers werent matching and wanted to announce the downgrade prior to end of quarter.
But the executive board votes against him.
But why would the board vote against a adjustment to forecast?
Just pure speculation and unlikely scenario but its the only one I can think of where i would give WP benefit of the doubt ( if he tried to take actions to correct it but board stopped him).
