Radiologists objected to radiating patients with the airXpanders due to not knowing all the parameters for the different materials in the expander as compared to the saline expanders. Takes a lot of time and effort to program the machine to adjust the radiation. They put it in the too hard basket and had a big say as to whether a hospital would take up the device. This issue was not communicated to investors until very late in the piece. The expectations was that the US take up rate would match the Australian take up rate which was close to 50% in 2 years.
