The vast majority of consolidations done when the SP is in the 0.1/0.2c range with billions of shares on issue and a dire need to raise more capital result in continued decline, frequently back to the same price.
That majority becomes almost a certainty if there is a current Convertible Note hanging over the company.
The time for consolidations is really only once a company has succeeded and there is strong demand for the shares.
The only way this consolidation wont end up being a disaster for the SP is if it accompanies a radical change to the company ( think new management or change of strategic direction?) Fingers crossed there is a left field play we don't know about yet
