By the way, and before I get stuck into this, did anyone see Little John in the Age video I posted this morning? Mr. Abbott's child care give has the smell of Howard all over it. It seems that the man is trying to govern from the side after being given the Big A by his electorate and the wider community. Old habits die hard they say and this is oh so apparent with Little John. Anyway to return to, the matter at hand: the "principles" held by the Liberals".
There is little doubt that the Liberals are following Howard's path of attempting to flatten the tax take. They would love to introduce a flat tax but to do so would be political suicide with the minimum income earner paying the same rate as, say just for example, the billionaires Ghina and Andrew. Just imagine the uproar if this was the situation. Politically impossible to implement? No. Because there are different ways to kill a cat. We all know, the recipients especially, the deftness of the pea and thimble trick it's use rewarded them admirably under Howard and it will do so under Mr Abbott with his mentor at his side giving instructions. The child care rebate is just part of the parcel, being added to the tricks pulled by Howard including the GST. If the Liberals were ever to get back into government we can expect a lot more of the same. After all they have the attitude that because they have got away with skullduggery in the past they do so in the future.
