In processing ore you generally know two things. 1. Cost to truck and process, 2. minimum feed grade required (generally expressed as NSR) to meet (1).
It appears neither were considered in this exercise at GAM, and as a result every tonne processed was at a net cost to the company rather than generating cashflow.
Most 10 year olds have better financial skills than that demonstrated by Tombola management.
