1 tonne equiv. of carbon dioxide is not equal to 1 tonne of methane equiv. hence you will receive more than 1 ACCU for 1 tonne of methane abatement. Rule of thumb is 1 tonne CH4 is equiv. to circa 28 tonnes CO2 Just for your understanding...
It's also worth noting.....you always see the word equivalent - because that's the important factor ie 1 tonne of methane gas is equivalent to 28 tonne of CO2
And, yes ACCU's are trading around $35/per tonne CO2 equiv. (not $70 which is close to the $75 Aust Govt is trying to bring in as a cap - Greens are having no bar of that....)
Europe is the yardstick for where everything is heading from a Net Zero & Circularity perspective / direction and below is a clear indicator of where ACCU will be heading ie EU ETS traded over 100EUR only a week or so ago...
You can do the maths on the potential of methane abatement from these numbers.....obviously the market hasn't yet, but the market is also completely unaware of ZEO, company.
I bought REA in 2002 at 25c, Afterpay at $1.70 in 2017 and ZNO in 2019 at 12c......in all cases, I thought I was wrong, the market didn't care, nobody was interested.....now I know that sometimes you get the opportunity to see the big picture before the sheep. Naturally I'm not mentioning others that amounted to nothing, but the point is that sometimes you get an opportunity that takes time and courage...let's see how this one plays out. We are early, and just maybe we will be rewarded.
