Although one would have to use common sense to state that bushfires aren't CAUSED by climate change but they would be exacerbated to the extent that they may start earlier due to warmer temperatures due to earlier onset of the warm season, warmer conditions in winter might increase the pre-conditioning of the terrain for bushfire, wetter winters due to more water vapour in the atmosphere might contribute to increased fuel load etc etc.

At the end of the day there is more energy in the atmosphere which translates directly into higher temperatures, stronger winds and more weather and climate extremes in general.
