I have been 4wdriving around Lithgow a number of times lately and as recent as the weekend before the fires. Much of the bush there is impenetrable anywhere off the tracks due to so much fuel. Due to the greens they have not been able to conduct any sort of fuel reduction burns. This has been an accident waiting to happen. Whether its 30 degrees in october or in another month these fires were always going to occur.
