    misty, I pretty much agree with what you are saying.

    My concern is more in the area of accountability. Rudd has received advice but he has made the final decision, and is therefore, responsible for all that happens. So, I'm not sure what it adds to the discussion by saying that he 'received the best advice'. Doesn't he always ? It is stating the obvious and looks like an attempt to justify his position and apportion blame if it doesn't work.

    I'm sure that Howard received some great advice on Workchoices too but we all know how that ended up. Howard wore the consequences, as I'm sure Rudd will of this goes belly-up.

    I may be reading too much into it, but that's the point that I was trying to make.
