Yes, it was stating the obvious, but judging by some of the posts it seemed to me that was not obvious. It has got nothing to do with "justifying" anything, just stating the obvious fact (which some seem not to have acknowledged) that the government's decisions are based on their experts' advice.
I really don't get what you are trying to say.
The government has made a decision on a certain course of action, and of course it will be judged by the failure or success of that course of action.
What gave you the idea that there will be no accountability ? Of course there will be. This is not a dictatorship we are living in.
