when I was a young bloke,those suburbs were the pits.
I think the Hell Angels used to have their headquarters in Fairfield, Northcote was a dump and Thornbury was even worse.
Preston & Reservoir were plain scary and it just got wilder the further north you wandered.
They have probably been gentrified since I was last there.
I am talking late 70s' early 80's.
