The red tailed black cockies here have even stronger beaks than the sulphur crested so can eat sea almonds, as tough and fibrous as small coconuts.
Rather than battle with them in the tree they bite off the branch and eat them on the ground. It is a scrawny tree to begin with, they make it worse.
