Yes China have a huge development in wind and solar….and coal power had more approvals in the first 3 months of 2023 than all of 2021. Some media sources have quoted massive blackouts culminating in factory closures due to the unreliability of wind and solar transfers of electricity hence coal plants being built in unison to support the power grid. As far as a drop in real emissions time will tell. Please don’t forget we in Australia wear some emissions on the downstream off shore processing of mined materials
