    hmmm,

perhaps Sunny Verghese might advise farmers to not trust governments who put in bloody stupid tax schemes that create a blight of plantation tree farms.

Farmers always do it hard and trees (which now just sit, uncared for and rapidly becoming a liability disaster) were a way of staying on their land and requiring no work, but cheques in the mail every quarter or half.

A doomed scheme right from the start, now a financial and environmental disaster.

And whose bright idea was plantation timber in the first place?

    Greens

I overlook hundreds of acres of plantation timber and within a couple of hours drive there are hundreds of thousands of acres - many owned by farmers.

I can tell you - farmers think green ideas very important ------------ and I can tell you where they think more green ideas should be shoved.
