The horrific impact of climate change is now being felt in Queensland.
Possibly nothing to do with climate change. One suspect it could be but El Nino and La Nina patterns have been happening for ever. Every now and then you get an extreme pattern which causes these floods and droughts.
Queensland in particular has historically had many severe floods: 1916, 1940, 1974, 2011.
