    Excellent commentary c*rywriter!
    Also the heat waves of the 1950s when Sydney would experience up to often two weeks of temperatures over 100F. They were the days and no body complained as it was considered normal weather for that time of year. It being Summer!!!!
    No air conditioning back then only a fan with a damp towel around it to provide whatever coolish air you could get and ever door and window wide open to catch what little breeze there was. And in most cases none until the southerly buster arrived well after midnight!!
    Now kids that's what you would call, 'Global Boiling' not like the luke warm conditions we tend to experience these days as we headfirst into cooler climatic conditions!
