it is interesting that the top climate scientists are reluctant to attribute any one event with climate change but not unexpected.
Single weather events are not linked to climate. Long term trends and serious of similar events may be attributed. Given the multiple drivers of drought and the long time lines of the drought cycle means that linking any particular drought to climate change spurious.
This again does not mean that one event is or is not the result of climate change. It does mean that it will add to the data that will identify underlying trends that may or may not be attributed to climate change in the long term.
