One of other features I find interesting is Sadoway's comments about local production. Using materials you have locally to build the battery.
That should suit Australia particularly well I reckon.
Also, as temperature is necessary for the battery to operate, cycling it regularly is essential. That really plays into the intermittence of renewables and therefore the two should be an ideal match.
