The real story behind viral photo of climate change protesters 'leaving rubbish behind in Sydney's Hyde Park'
The image was posted to Facebook and Twitter after a group of marijuana enthusiasts gathered at Hyde Park 420, in London, for their annual event on April 20 this year.
The next day The Hemp Trading Company posted the image to their Facebook page, explaining the mess left behind was cleaned up Extinction Rebellion protesters, who had demonstrated nearby.
“This is #HydePark after #420. Ashamed is not the word," the post read.
"With #extinctionrebellion not yards away, so many of you couldn’t be bothered to clean up after yourselves... #cannabiscommunity you can do better – you need to do better."
