The world's population is exploding! Africa, Asia and South America want to industrialise and provide a good standard of living for all their people. They will not play second fiddle to the west and accept a lower standard of living as being their birthright.

So until they can find some way of providing base load power (renewables is out of the equation for this) fossils / nuclear will have to do the job!!
