As is usually the case profits may not come in the early stages but over time as technology and mass production occurs they will be the mainstay in energy and in the production of goods.
Global warming and associated climate change is real and beyond doubt as the science is in. Thats why right around the globe efforts are being made to combat it. Even sceptics like Tony Abbott realised that if his scepticism was not justified the consequences could be horrendous and therefore he committed billions to combat climate change albeit in a less effective way.
The narrow minded right wing fringe conservatives traditionally always want to stick with the status quo. They are terrified of change. They were the flat earthier's of the past, the deniers that tobacco smoking was a scourge, that asbestos was a horrible deadly mineral.
They prefer cheap electricity and to continue making money out of dirty technologies.
They also tend to be the use nukes brigade and love bigotry, racism and sexism.
But never mind they are but a very small percentage and thankfully wont prevail.

One thing that has been proven is that to lurch towards renewables without allowing for a sensible time frame to do so is a risky move . Moderation is needed.
