Gday BB
From one jihadi to another, what ongoing discussion would provide the entertainment value that the AGW story does.
Look at all the good points. 1/ It's never ending, a bit like paradise only without the virgins. 2/ We both get to think of the other side as benighted fools, in a genteel sort of way 3/ A bit of verbal sparring doesn't require any harsh physical training and provides the same feeling as pulling the gloves on and going for a hit in the ring 4/ Keeps the mind active 5/fills in time as you lot keep coming back for more, it's a story that keeps on giving.
As for an actual response to your post.
If we were told that it's 2.4 deg by 2020 and that's a lie( from an IPCC author) then what else isn't true? Are you suggesting that we take these charlatans on trust? Surely not, as you are always talking about credible sources etc.
You mention that no one denying that it's still warming. Last I heard Phil Jones of the CRU said that there was "no statistical warming" over the past 10 years. Question. Should we believe him, bearing in mind he does work at the CRU? I personally wouldn't be surprised if it were warming slightly, it was only a couple of hundred years ago we had a Little Ice Age and temperatures have been rising at a gentle rate since then(except when they went down for a couple of decades after WW2).
As for wasting time and everyone else's how do you define that? TU's are a bit simplistic besides there are some who make a habit(quite petty in my view) of systematic TD's. Any suggestions?
Basic science? Is that about saturation of absorption bands of CO2 and how more CO2 doesn't necessarily mean a linear rate of heating?
Or is that about doing dodgy tree ring stuff a la Briffa or creating dodgy hockey sticks like Mann to remove inconvenient warming periods? Or that
we have very low CO2 levels in historical terms and that in the past 7000ppm CO2 didn't cause the runaway greenhouse boogyman that we are being told
is just around the corner if we misbehave?
As for everyday observation what do you mean besides things get warmer, things get cooler, we have droughts and floods, even a sunburnt country! And aren't everyday observations just anecdotal, not proof at all.
Butcherboy, what a beauty of a second para you have there, though I must say that there is more than a hint of projection in it. Who is the most consistent poster on AGW here? Who puts in so much time collecting articles, posting them, responding etc? The rest of us are mere dilettantes compared to your efforts. Who is being pioneering, heroic and fighting the good fight, the one who is always there doing his bit or the one who turns up when and as he feels when something takes his interest(like me)?
cheers
