Digs, Old growth forrest is carbon neutral. An old tree must die and decay before a new one can grow.
Timber is a beautiful and tough building material so I see no sense in locking useful trees away, never to be used. I have a 60 yr old home made from "Maryborough Hardwood" and it is still structurally sound and will be for many decades yet.
That timber was logged on Fraser Is but that is now off limits to loggers. Makes no sense. :sob:
