All you who want to invoke change through a carbon tax. You really need to read and think about this.

Canada has a 25% carbon tax, so utility bills jumped 25% or $400 a quarter. Who can afford that??
Not me, but when you read the fine print, that money is raised by taxing the fossil fuel industries. But that money is then spent on schools and hospitals. Not a bit goes towards improving energy. It's just revenue that increases the price of fossil fuel energy to make it more competitive with green energy.

So think about that, when and if Canada stopped using fossil fuels how would they fund the schools and education............?????? They still need to find that money. They will just tax you elswhere, meanwhile they destroy the fossil fuel industry, that simply moves to china or india as they dont have to meet any carbon obligations until 2030 by the keyoto protocol, they are free to build as many stable, cheap coal fired power stations as they want until 2030.

Do carbon taxes decrease emissions?Income and sales taxes exist to raise money for government services like health care and education. Environmental taxes are different. Their purpose is to create price incentives for consumers to conserve energy or switch to less carbon-intensive fuels.Consumers respond to prices. At the grocery store, if the price of cauliflower goes up, you might buy broccoli instead. The same is true for fossil fuels.

Carbon tax is $20 a ton for 2019 and will be $50 a ton by 2022, so in 2 years this bill, the carbon tax will rise from $400 to $1000. REALLY IMAGINE HOW THIS WILL IMPACT YOU!
