Unfortunately it matters when my energy bills go up so much and i get paid next to nothing for all the solar i send back to the grid during the day.
If energy is more expensive everything is more expensive, and last i checked most people outside the top 10% aren't doing very well, and are unlikely to do so in the short to medium term.
So yearh it matters a lot since it affects all of our quality of life.
If you cant convince, you shouldnt be going head with it.
