You are quite correct with the geographical growth of emissions & it is something
that needs to be addressed globally. Difficult but not impossible.

Western / developed countries need to lead the way for several reasons including because they are the countries with the resources to develop the new technologies required, & to show leadership (ie not giving countries the lame excuse of why should we bother because we're such a small number? Or you screwed up the world now you expect us to suffer for it etc).
Unfortunately with the exception of Western Europe & a few individual countries their leaders are failing miserably, including Australia.

Australia has one of the highest per capita emissions in the world & as a socially responsible citizen of the planet must share it's part in reducing emissions globally.
Part of which includes not subsidising companies like Adani to mine thermal coal at the Carmichael mine which isn't otherwise economically viable.

As for the developing countries they should be assisted by financing & installing renewable power generation instead of fossil fuels ones for their development.
ie go from A to C rather than A to B to C.

It's all too easy to say it's too difficult & do nothing, & time is running out.
