I heard a bloke being interviewed on radio recently who was an Insurance Industry guru. He was saying that premiums will be out of reach for many more people from now on as CC bites. The Insurance companies in Oz when it comes to property insurance used to be able to balance their throughout the year due to seasonal factors. ie flooding in certain areas would be when bushfires in other areas weren't an issue, or cyclones up north were of a different timing to bushfires down south etc. He said in recent times that has changed and now disasters are happening everywhere at the same time, couple with higher intensity. There's nothing subtle about whats going on, a look at averages through the years tell the story.
