''The reality is that, as far as we know, and in the natural course of events, our world has never — in its entire history — heated up as rapidly as it is doing now. ''

IMO - what is missing mostly is what the heating of the planet 'means'

the cc debate of 'meaning' of what happens when it gets warm faster --------- is clouded by 'why' is it happening - enter the Co2 debate - which is where most people land in the room and get stuck shouting at each other.

If people backed off and looked at what a 'rapidly' warming world means - and looked closer than their infantile -

Co2 is plant food and warm is good etc etc -------- and asked - well, what will it mean if it gets too hot, too fast -

THEN the real meaning and picture becomes clear -

and frightening? ---------- well, it kinda depends on if you think major+++++++ changes to society are scary or not

if one thinks that coastal inundation in say Australia - will displace most of the capital city residential property and more ------------ if one thinks that kind of change is scary -

then, one better get scared fast - because that's a real potential high risk.

So, what's the low risk - what might happen and we don't have such change?

Well, what will for sure happen is the top bit of the world will ice over - and before we get major inundation (and why will it ice over because it gets hot? because enough fresh water will hit the oceans and the AMOC will stop - as it has already many times)

so what ------- what will that mean for Oz? - because Oz will probably be ok when the top bit gets cold -

well, what it means is that a huge+++ % of the worlds population will be on the move -climate refugees --------- and possibly billions of them, certainly hundreds of millions -

so for Oz it means ----------- LOTS and LOTS of new people - and, no - there won't be a snowballs chance in hell of stopping them ---------- so Oz will go from it's little population - it will have population growth that makes what we have atm look like nothing

where will they go? - well, I think we'll see entire cities rise from nothing - maybe some provincial cities become very very large cities - and it will all need building - and water and power etc

so, the world heating up is one thing ------------ what it means? is totally another story.

And will it be far off in never never time - like next century? Well, that's what we might all get to hear about in the next 24 months ---------- and the news might be very dramatic

    we wait
