We could become a 100% carbon neutral country tomorrow and it would have next to no impact on global climate change. China is the elephant in the room here. Why should I have to give up the enjoyment of driving when it will have next to no impact? If we can't even convince Japan to stop whaling how are we even remotely going to force China to change their carbon footprint? Manufacturing is the only thing keeping China important on the global market, they aren't going to give it all up to please chai latte drinking Melbournite greenies.

If people want to see the way we use products change to better the environment, there needs to be an economic incentive to do so.
