Overall scientists have seen cuts to research funding, harassment, loss of status and in some cases even worse. Their messages have been muffled.

Even if we stopped all greenhouse gas emissions tomorrow the additional energy already pumped into our oceans and our atmosphere will now take fifty years to work their way through our ecosystems.
