Yes, the perversion or should that be urban myths surrounding recent extreme weather events is a tried, true and tested go to weapon of those who support the idea of a fast approaching tipping point and it’s a great filler for news producers. It’s the gift that keeps on giving with something happening most days around the world to point too. Just as the skeptical types can point to weather events each day that seem contrary to what the supporters claim as proof. Much of this is just plain old weather and only provides proof that weather is a fickle beast that has more variations than we can comprehend (at this point in time). The ABC is only one media outlet that seems to push just one view but they all do it, fear is a great hook to keep bums on seats and since the GW days they have had a mountain of ways to push these bad news bits. I don’t blame or think this is inappropriate of any media outlets, I like to hear these opinions as they have value, I like the activist pieces and the claims made by people based on the latest bit of scientific information. I think the biased reporting of the few people who disagree with the MMCC premise is a tad over done and I would like to see a bit more attention given to those who have made bold statements about climate effects that have fallen short of claims and perhaps some attention to erroneous scientific papers that have been published then withdrawn. A bit more of a balanced approach would be nice but that’s only wishful thinking on my part.

zip, aren't you as flabbergasted as I am that all this discussion about climate is ALWAYS just a heap of words and insults? No charts or logic ever? I have tried but no-one is interested. They just turn away. Conclusion - The political and ideological chit chat is what people want....not thought.
