Canberra weather: Frosty morning with almost the record low for November
Canberrans may have expected frosty mornings to have passed a month out from summer, but that has not been the case.
Tuesday's overnight temperature dropped to minus 1.3 degrees, just 0.5 degrees warmer than Canberra's record low for November, set in 1967...
That makes it November's fifth coldest night on record, Weatherzone forecaster Brett Dutschke said.
He said the last time it dropped below minus 1.3 degrees was on November 4 in 2013, when it got to minus 1.5 degrees.
People took to social media on Tuesday morning to express dismay at the need to wipe ice of their cars on a chilly morning that was almost 9 degrees below the month's average.
Mr Dutschke said days have also been colder than usual, with Tuesday's top of 18 degrees 5 degrees colder than November's average daytime temperature...
