Moby, I know it doesn't conform to your view but I thought it was a well presented and documented argument.
Given that these individuals are by choice public figures seeking to exploit publicity and on the public payroll exposure is whistleblowing rather than theft. The information was not their personal property as it was compiled on publicly funded time and machinery.
Surely you would concede that the emails show their authors to be trying to sell their view rather than being dispassionate seekers of knowledge. The authors have clearly crossed from being scientists to being advocates for a cause running a campaign to support their beliefs while on the public payroll.
I have no problem with individual advocacy. It is however dishonest to pretend to be a scientist chasing truth while in fact being an advocate for one view and seeking to knobble the opposing view.
