Finnet "we need to start shutting down coal fired generators if we are to make any difference"

And replace them with what Geothermal is in its infancy wave power in its infancy wind & solar cannot provide base load effectively on a large scale, add on the large time frames involved for newer technologies. Gas is the only other answer & that is still carbon based. Nuclear not interested.
Keep in mind also the costs involved who is going to pay you can bet it will the average tax payer.
climate change believers should put their money were their mouth is & invest in gdy & other geothermal companies or ceto if they have they have lost a bundle, and will get a tap on the shoulder for more money in the future as well.

The thing i find about this debate is quotes like Climate change is real there is no point disputing it
Science is littered with false prediction & when issues as complex as the climate with numerous variables that interact is stated as a proven fact it does not bode well for any future studies
Saying its all due to humans is comical what about solar variance.

No one ever wins an arguement with "the remainder of the community that disagrees with you you are fringe and wrong - totally wrong"

Some scientists believed in global cooling in the 70's

The most cited example of 1970s cooling predictions is a 1975 Newsweek article "The Cooling World" that suggested cooling "may portend a drastic decline for food production."

"Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century."

A 1974 Time magazine article Another Ice Age? painted a similarly bleak picture:

"When meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe, they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age."

Maybe when refering to science people should start referring again to the theory rather than stating it as facts
